Gbody Resto

Cleaned up the motor today, i think i tapped out 50 bolt holes. God damn dirt dobbers. Shot some ATF in the cylinders and the motor spun over effortlessly. Cleaned up the exhaust side of the heads. Installed new plug wires, plugs, serp belt, a/c belt, oil filter. Installed the new oil pan, windage tray, pick up tube, and dipstick. Got the BRP mounts installed.

Also did an oil change on the teg. Forgot to update the post with what i actually did.

Matts94Z28 09-18-2010 11:07 PM

Oh snap. When are we going to lay it in the car?

MonteC 09-19-2010 10:24 AM

baby steps matt, baby steps.

Matts94Z28 09-19-2010 11:32 AM

Just dont walk backwards this time!

MonteC 10-03-2010 03:53 PM

Transmission is built.

I started spraying the car down with hornet killer so i dont get stung pushing the car on the lift. Im planning on dropping the engine and trans in this upcoming weekend, if the week goes ok.

Nope. Dont know what its off of. Those wheels i borrowed from you are on taras car. I found two wheels in the back of the t type i stripped. I have to put different studs in the wheel spacer on that side before i can mount the last zr1.

Even though no one showed up, i was able to get all of the body bushings in. Really wasnt as bad as i was thinking. Using a lift and a couple screw jacks and the job was cake.

Never said it was a budget build. I just didnt want to spend a shit ton of money on the motor.

I want to update this car as much as possible, tubular suspension, better disk brakes, poly bushings, better a/c, ect.

I do plan on taking the car to the track but im not looking to be the fastest.

I hope the weather holds out so i can get these newly acquired parts installed.

LXtasy 11-06-2010 11:35 AM

Since you have to replace the old worn out pieces might as well upgrade. Looking good so far. What lower control arms are those? and by the pictures it appears you can still retain stock springs?

Matts94Z28 11-06-2010 11:59 AM

Looks nice! When are the triple gold daytons and hydros going on?
