Heard Midway has a new owner, some guy from Virginia dropped 250k cash on it a few weeks ago. Anyone hear anything about this?

LXtasy 02-15-2011 09:14 PM

OUTLAW 02-15-2011 09:25 PM

midway can be a good track if they run rtght

Carlrx7 02-15-2011 09:40 PM

where is midway?

04ctd 02-15-2011 09:55 PM

is that the one on the way up to Lake City?

if so, it;s a long ways, and mostly back roads.

LXtasy 02-15-2011 09:58 PM

Up HWY 52 in Greeleyville. 45 minutes to 1 hour from Goose creek

AverageJoe 02-15-2011 10:04 PM

10 miles closer than Bowman from Goose Creek, not much difference

x2

chrisheltra 02-15-2011 10:14 PM

Its slightly better than Bowman as a whole (Bowmans track surface is better IMO) but Bowman supports us and the site.

Whaler 02-15-2011 10:15 PM

That track is very wide and long. Easy to get to as well.

freddy231 02-15-2011 10:58 PM

heard that they were cleaning up the place but nobody seems to know anything about whats happening

Cock locked? That sounds like a problem you and your wife need to work out somewhere besides a public message board

I think the hold up on this deal is the epa. Something about oil contamination in wetlands.

White00gt 02-16-2011 10:48 PM

Is this even remotely possibly anything more than a rumor??? I sure would love for greasy ville to open back up... Shoot....where is my employment app. I ll get the track added to the schedule, and get some racing closer to home.

But they dumped methanol barrels also to dilute the VHT. That makes it all better.

Owner said they are going to try and have it opened by april. Just doing little things for now like patching the right lane and waiting to completely repave for next winter. But it does look like it will be there this year.

And it was a guy from NC paid 200k cash

Carlrx7 02-19-2011 06:10 PM

im assuming its an 1/8th mile as well? (race car track)

Drove by there on the way to Darlington today. Grass was chest high. No signs of life.

Matts94Z28 02-19-2011 11:06 PM

Rumors.

White00gt 02-19-2011 11:06 PM

Well, If it is more than a rumor as I"ve heard plenty. I wish the new owner the best and a speedy prep time for gates open.

I will be there testing with out question should gates ever open back up. Will also talk with proper people and bring in some monthly stuff possibly. ya never know.
