Looks Like I bought a car
My wife asked for this car to be her 30th birthday present, so that means I'm the proud new owner of a 1971 Nova.

First thing I'm going to look into is new disc brakes. This car has 4 wheel drums which has to suck. |

we put more than your purchase price in our old 77 in a few months. here's where I looked for parts, but never found anything REAL cheep http://www.pro-touring.com/forumdisplay.php?46-For-Sale wrong gen for you, but a good site... http://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums...splay.php?f=16 will she want to take it to Bowman? Susan LOVED going down the strip. congrats & good luck with it. |
I hear this a lot on forums, unsure how true it is.
But if you slide the painter/prep'er at Macco some money, they willl do a much better job. And will even use their better paints (not tell the boss ect). Same from hearing from forums, is the only issue is they dont prep properly. So people slide the guy doing it and he will take his time ect..... |
Nice car faggot..oops is that gonna cost me 100k lol

Awesome,Mike. My wife Christy works with yours. She told me you all bought the Nova.Congrats.Nova's to me are the best car Chevy ever built,68-72 that is.I,my father and brother owned all those years except the 68 model. If you need any help let me know I still have some parts and my brother still has his 69 Nova. The drum brakes aren't to bad.We installed 73 Nova brakes on the front of my brother's.My 70 had drums all the way around and it ran a 6.16 @ 110 mph and stopped with no problems. But the aftermarket is flooded with up grades for Nova's now. What do you want to do with it?Is it still a 307 car?Is it a T350 auto also?

there is a guy on the Nova forum (link above) who has parts & stuff, Phillip, i got a lot of parts from him, and just gave him my old parts in return. FWIW, the stock non-power brakes have a different pedal pivot point than the power brakes. the manual/non power brakes will NOT stop with a power pedal...ask me how i know.... |
This Nova will be ls powered and running 9's before billys vette moves under its own power.
|
Sounds good,Mike.I likes BBQ:bigthumb:
LS power would be awesome. That's the route my brother would like to go now. |

This car will not see the track. My wife says, "this will be a mommy and daddy date night car". Not my words. Now that we have this the white car might eventually become the track car.
|
It can still be a "Date night car"....just a fast one:mrgreen:.Nova's hook up so good on the track. Is the yours a mono leaf or multi leaf rear sup. car?It probably has a 3.08 rear gear also.Good gear for every day driving. My brother's 69 was a 307,PG and 3.08 and it got 20-24 mpg around town.Christy said Deana wants to make it a SS Nova. All it needs is to be that is the emblems, rear trunk bezel, hood bezels, rear sway bar and front disc brakes. The steering wheel horn cover also had a SS emblem on it also.JW Nova has most of these parts.

Here is my brother's car
|
Cliff, that car is badass. It'll be a quick "date night" car for sure. Is there a book or website that shows what all vehicles and parts interchange with this one? PM me your number sometime so I can begin bugging you with questions.
|
We used JW Nova alot. They sell new and old parts.Year One and Hubbard is also good source.
