Looks good man! what kind of power are you expecting?

Carlrx7 08-21-2011 09:32 PM

what ever it will take to get a 9.99 et. but going to have three modes on the boost controller.

wg setting 8psi = 650whp

8psi bc A mode = 650whp but with less lag, full spool at 3k

14psi bc B mode = 800whp for the track

18psi bc scramble mode = 9XX/???? BOOM

p.s. still stock ls2 beside cam.

s14.5gonewide 08-21-2011 09:54 PM

why not upgrade to a forged setup. i see a new motor in your future. the turbo setup looks good.

LXtasy 08-22-2011 08:09 AM

Very nice carl. Looks like it was a fun install

Derek 08-22-2011 08:51 AM

Me thinks your going to have a lot of bugs to work out but I cant wait to see it when you do.

03SVTCOBRA 08-22-2011 10:14 PM

pull half the plugs then maybe i can keep up.

csikx 08-28-2011 02:40 PM

I just finished reading your thread on the corvetteforum. Did you finish it yesterday, like you hoped?

Carlrx7 08-28-2011 06:05 PM

yep, done, i just need to find time to goto masterbend and get the midpipes v-banded to connect to the downpipes. im hoping boss will let me out early on Tuesday. as of right now, the h-pipe is being held up with safetywire, open dumps. kinda loud. lol

-Carl

csikx 08-28-2011 08:08 PM

Sweet...

I kinda read over it, but what was the problem with the driver's (I think) pipe? I know you had to carve away at some of the fender, but was that it? I saw you returned some piping.

Carlrx7 09-11-2011 03:00 AM

lil update:

I checked for boost leaks and had a ton of them! every coupler leaked, bov's, even the back of the compressor cover leaked like a son of a bitch! tighented down the couplers, added rtv to the bov's flange and got some anaerbolic sealant for the compressor cover and took car of that.

then i thought i had a vacuum leak, turns out it was just crazy turbulence in the maf, need to get a screen, but for now i just switched to Speed Density closed loop. car purs like a kitten. just a lil surge during a cold start for 30 seconds i need to iron out.

This is a screen shot of me trying to run Waste Gate pressure which is 6-8psi

http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...stcreepmaf.jpg

umm, 13psi, wtf.. oh well, going to hook up the boost controller and see if commanding 13psi will cover up the boost creep or just make it worse. if it gets worse then ill upgrade to external w/g's

-Carl

p.s. car is offically faster then the supercharger setup with 3.25 pulley with a time of 4.44 seconds from 50-110, can't wait to get the 13 psi down low around 3500rpms. can you say rocket ship?

Magoo 09-12-2011 11:31 PM

Going to be nasty!

minytrker 09-13-2011 01:00 AM

Wow that was alot of work. It looks badass though, what kind of times are you shooting for?

ForceFed4g63 09-13-2011 08:46 AM

Very nice, looks like you got a decent starting tune on there, no knock, but then again your timing is really low too. I wish I could take a ride lol.

SOADweskey 09-13-2011 12:31 PM

That is some serious boost creep. Dual external wastegate dumps would sound awesome, given that you don't have to drive the car all the time.

Carlrx7 09-13-2011 11:19 PM

i checked the waste gates, they both crack open at 7.8 psi and then fully open at 12.1 psi.

dont let the low timing fool you, you only want enough to get the job done, no need to go past MBT. a lot comes down to the combustion chamber, the more efficient the heads, the lower the timing required. 14 degrees is about the highest i will go, remember this is a high compression engine 10.9:1 with 14psi. oh and on the vitamin E.

-Carl

oh, final goal is 9.99 et, which i believe i have the power for, but now i just need to get some wheels and pray to god the stock rear and stock trans hold. im no power shifter..

You should have the power for 9.99, now if you can get the 60ft needed for a 9.99 may be a better question.

SOADweskey 09-15-2011 12:24 AM

I've never seen to much custom tuning with anything other than a 4G63. I thought your timing was low as well but it makes sense with compression so high. I like to shoot for 17 degrees with my engine but I only have 8.8:1 compression.

Good luck to you on getting the rear end and trans to hold a 9.99 pass. Let us know on here when you are going to try. I would like to cheer you on and buy you a celebratory beer.
