Guy makes millions selling property on the moon!

The Lunar Embassy

Crazy stuff. Apparently this guy sent a letter to the UN requesting legal rights to sell lunar property. At the bottom of the letter there was statement basically saying that lack of response will be considered a ÔÇ£yesÔÇØ. Well they never responded and then he set up the website and started selling. From what i read he has made MILLIONS on this! Pure genius and no one can sue him cause there are no laws concerning lunar realestate and no court has jurisdicition there.

This is the most brilliant business idea since they started selling bottled water for 2 bucks.

Damn 1 acre is only 22.49. Would make a neat gift at least, and maybe worth millions 50 years from now lol, might just have to buy a couple acres.

"A fool and his money are soon parted"

As long as there are idiots lining up to by lunar acreage, there will be "entrepreneurs" around that will gladly take their money form them.

You can relate the same philosophy to why automobiles cost so much these days. There are still people lining up at dealerships out there that don't even blink at an automobile costing $40k anymore, even in this economy. In reality, automobile prices have far outpaced wage increases in the past 20 years. Easy credit has enabled the manufacturers to keep raising the bar on what an automobile does cost vs. what it would really sell for in the absence of easy credit. As long as there are suckers to be had in the game, the prices will keep going up.

Call me an idiot then. $22.49 for a neat, unique gift. Who the hell cares? You need to let some things go and just relax...

I agree, I dont plan on ever going to the moon for vacation so its not like I am going to build a condo on my acre, but just the certificate would be a neat gift. Kinda like those things you see on TV to purchase a star.

Who wants to buy a blade of grass from my yard for $25? Ill even hand write your name on this certificate.

You throw in the title and I'll throw you $25

I have a thousand acres on Pluto and I'm planning on subdividing it. If anybody is interested the going rate on an acre is $20. Just let me know

No title sorry just a copy of the original certificate hand signed by me.

I'm gonna shellac my poop and sell it with a certificate of authenticity.

How do you know some other extraterrestrial entity hasn't already laid claim to the acre you "own"? Guess we will have to do a title search! :poke:

Once the government gets wind of this lunar acreage becoming popular, the same laws and regulations that make up "closing costs" on real estate we purchase here on Earth will enter the lunar area. Along with the $22.49 you paid the seller, the system will suck about $4k more from your pocket for closing costs. :hysterical:
