This video shows that a Boss 302 Intake Manifold can't exactly take 40 PSI. LOL
We have an 82mm midframe precision turbo on this car. It made 741 rwhp @ 4,000 rpm when the manifold blew to bits.

We dialed the boost way down to 17 psi and added a 125hp shot of nitrous for the King of the Street competition. Where it made 953 rwhp.

We'll be playing more with this combo and trying to get the boost back in there. We'll be doing steps to see where the Boss 302 manifold can actually hold to... If it's not much further, we'll be fabricating a sheet metal manifold for those high boost applications.

Judging by the flame that escaped the busted intake, either some spark happened at the wrong time or an intake valve couldn't close all the way. Some stronger intake springs are in order when you get to those sick boost numbers. 40 psi on the backside of the 37 mm intake valves is about 65 lbs of force trying to push the valves open.
