The video comments on the page give me a freaking headache.
|
Both of those cars were on a show on the History channel or discovery channel the other day called LA street racing. I think the Monte had a different shop's name in the show though.
Some of the crap they were doing in that show was REAL sketchy..... |
Oh nice. Look at the school bus.
|
Wtf that's pretty damn irresponsible. They can avoid the law but these types of street racing videos that put the public In direct danger just fuel the fire for government making it harder for everyone else. Think about it if the law can't stop this type of activity they just ask help from Washington and then they make it harder to buy parts or stricter inspections. Look what kind of wieght the EPA has thrown around in the diesel world. I truly believe that I will see a time when we will have to apply for permits to prove that the camshaft I buy is going for an offroad vehical. My rant for this year lol.

How do they get away with that crap! Very stupid!

"I LOST AND PAIDED UP".
Retards. |
Lol looks like pretty normal street racing to me.... Am I missing something?
|
did you see the amount of rubber in their launch pad? they do that pretty often
were the cars at the stop light blocking traffic, or waiting on the light? |
You guys need to find that episode I was talking about. When I get home I'll find the name of it, but it explains all of this kind of racing that is going on out there. BIG money, but lots of the guys are tired of getting arrested, and are using the street races (with other drivers) to fund their "on-track" racing, moving into legitimate drag racing at organized tracks. It was a pretty good show.
But yes, there is a street (I think it is in Compton) that they call the drag strip. They do this there every night as it is an industrial area and is pretty much a ghost town after dark. Seeing this one in the day is weird though, as every race they showed on that show was at night. They actually prep the launch area the same as at the track per the show. |
That's why I don't see where the sketch part of it is... Besides the fact that there isn't a white person in sight lol!
They have traffic blocked for the most part, prepared the launch area. And there are bystanders either watching and or to keep people from getting in the line of fire. That's a shit ton more then they do at the TX2K events on the freeway that everyone thinks is so bad ass... |
The Lorax disapproves.
|
I think that was a taco wagon and not a school bus.
|
Papa bear, you are talking about 135th and Main in compton. Look it up on google maps.
The sketchyness comes from how bad the Monte gets out it shape, mid day racing and the obvious traffic. Not to mention the guys who don't even get out of the road. Check out more of their videos. They do dumb stuff all the time. |

Safer than bowman, no concrete walls to run up on, just buildings and buses to hit.

You can see the rubber laid down from an aerial view, that's pretty impressive
|
Yeah, that's the house of hook in Compton. A whole lot of street racing there by really fast guys.
On a related note you will see more of this as I just found out today that Southern CA's last 1/4 mile strip in Fontana has closed up shop and last month the 1/8th in Irwindale closed so now there is no legal places to drag race within a 3 hour drive of Los Angeles. |
