Internet Out?

Our internet at work went out early yesterday afternoon, at&t. Came in this morning and its still out. Apparently some other businesses are out too. Anybody else? I'm so screwed, my workload is increasing exponentially the longer its out.

Not out at Boeing.....but when it does go out, they send us all home. I remember the railroad hit a line one day at like 7:30 in the morning. Once Boeing found out it would be all day before it was fixed.....we were outta here at 9AM, PAID!!

Wish it happened more often lol.

I pay verizon a bunch of money every month and my internet barely ever works if that counts.

You must not work for a big company......

Most companies that actually have an IT budget.....have redundant systems. At work we have 3 internet providers. Verzion for FTTC (fiber). AT&T DSL, and some no name brand dsl provider. We use the fiber as a primary. 4 t1's load balanced.

If you actually have an IT dept its always something to bring up to them. Now, our offsite warehouses have single internet backbones. But main plant has backups for backups :P

We have over 5,000 people in the company and we do have an IT dept lol. One of the main cables was severed somehow, not much the IT dept can do about that. There were a few managers that have WiFi but as for us peons we were SOL.

IT is at corporate up in NYC, and they are pretty much incompetent.

One of our locators put a pic up of a huge fiber cut in town somewhere. Maybe that was it. I don't fix fiber but when we fixed a big cable for boeing, they brought us bags of hats and shit for getting it going. High rollers fosho
