How to Tell if Slicks are Still Good?
I'm a complete newb to slicks, never had any before. I'm thinking about picking up some slicks from another guy, and he says they have plenty of life left but I have no idea how to tell if they do since there's no tread lol. Any help is much appreciated!

The holes are wear indicators. Those look to be in great shape.

Well I'm going to hop on these then, hopefully I can have them in time for this weekend.

Oh, and nice sig :finger: Edit: wtf double post fail |
Age and climate the tires are kept in is also important.

Age matters. If its a MT you can call with the number on by the bead and they can tell you when it was made.
|
They're one year old. I'm assuming that's ok?
|
if they've been bagged its a lot better than if they've been just sitting in the garage.

i had my hoosiers for 3-4 years and they always hooked like a mofo. always garage kept tho. if they have been stored outside, they may be dried out looking. i would say thats more important than overall age.

Nittos work better with age

i'm convinced my NT05's are heat cycled already and they are only at half tread depth.

Got them for $200 with wheels mounted and everything. Plus shipping but still a killer deal.
|
Those probably have 30-40 passes on them if I had to guess. I make around 20 passes on mine and take them off and the wear indicator looks a little better than that.
|
i'm interested in seeing what that thing runs. any guestimates?
|
So someone says they look great and someone says they look bad. Good ol interwebz
