Chassis parts

Got some goodies today from the man in the brown uniform! Drag springs, caster camber plates, adjustable shocks, and struts. Hope to start this project soon, as high school baseball is in full swing. Maybe I'll be able to do a wheelie on the launch. :):):wow::gears:

Gotta wait for more money. I'm planning on doing it, just wanna see how these mods do.

It might be possible. My oldest son has a busy baseball schedule this week. If I get it done by Saturday, I'll still have to get an alignment. I quess I could do everything but the CC plates then do them after the k-member swap.

What rear control arms are you running?

05Saleen 03-24-2008 10:35 PM

Nice Will. That should help you out alot with the 60'.

Chillerman 03-24-2008 10:45 PM

I don't remember what brand the control arms are. They came from blue-oval industries. I only paid about 200.00 for the uppers & lowers. So far they seem to work pretty well.

Does anyone have a spring compressor to make things a little safer for the front springs????

Slowleen 03-24-2008 11:52 PM

its not to bad if you unbolt the sway bar and let the front control arm drop farther down then normal...and a little crow bar re-enforcement never hurt...then again, im used to lowering springs

Chillerman 03-25-2008 07:47 AM

These springs should not lower the car. They are supposed to maintain the stock ride height. Never done front springs before, so I wasn't sure how much compression there is in them. I could always fab up a compressor with two pieces of flat bar for a strong back and some 1/2" all thread.

That is exactly what I have done in the past. I am a cheap bastard and rather fab something up with what I have in the garage than go buy or rent something.

*btw, what are springs? lol*

BDBYS59 03-25-2008 09:29 PM

Will , I have the correct spring compressor for fox body front springs (and it does take a special compressor)

Chillerman 03-25-2008 10:50 PM

BDBYS59, Send me a pm with your number. I might give you a call if you don't mind loaning it out. If not I will certainly understand, and make my own.
