What will I need

Nothing is really going on so Im going to ask. What type of video camera do I need to post up videos.

dkbmxer002 05-11-2008 11:48 PM

sony's are the best bang for the buck imo

Get a old DV (tape) camera. They are the easiest to edit and upload. You can get a decent one for under 200 dollars.

Stay away from the mini dvd and hard drive cameras if you want to be able to edit the videos and upload them to the net.

i agree, but the hard drive's are nice imo. mini dvd's suck.

sony has the best night vision until you pay big bucks. and the mini dv will be great for editing and uploading and they keep getting cheaper.

I have a sony mini dvd & chris has a sony hard drive camera. Both suck at night. If you are zoomed in at any distance it is very hard to focus.

I have been thinking about picking up an old mini dv with 48x optical zoom. I get tired of leaping through hoops just to edit my own movies because they are filmed on DVD.

I think thats what I have. It sucks though. It doesnt have steady shot. I didnt know when I got it. Ive had it for a while. Just dont use it mutch because everything looks shaky. How do you get it on the computer?

Mike 05-12-2008 12:04 AM

If it's dv it should have a firewire port.

chrisheltra 05-12-2008 12:04 AM

I love my HDD cam except for at night.

Mike 05-12-2008 12:08 AM

How hard is to edit the movies Chris. I know when I used your camera I had to 1st convert the files. And some of the converters left the files unusable. So after 3 or 4 different tries I finally got it to work.

which sony is it?

both of my sony handicam's are good at night, not high end canon quality but good night vision.

It has a little tape that looks like a cassette for a radio. I got it because it was cheap and the zoom on my old one quit.

here is a good example of the focus problems. There are some that are much worse, They were so bad that I just deleted them.

I've seen randy use movie maker a few times. There isn't anything wrong with it especially when it's free. I have used others, but mm is the simplest to use.
