CHP Track Day.....March/April 2014

Alright, spoke with Mike, and he said he had no issue with me doing a CHP track day for everyone on here again. So here it is..

The race will take place at Bowman Dragway again, not sure of date yet, but will be in March/early April.

This will be for CHP members and friends via word of mouth. The more the better so see what you guys/gals can round up to make a day full of racing!

Admission will be $10 per person, plus $5 for any vehicle that wants to go down the track.

I will attempt to make this a good "true street car" race as the highlight of the track day.

Trying to do $1000 to winner/12 car minimum field! (all dependent on crowd and car count)
$10/20 entry fee just to help payout to winner
Rules are as follows (no if ands or buts)
Cars must have:
updated vehicle registration
updated vehicle insurance
D.O.T. tire (this includes any tire that says D.O.T. approved on the side)
No tube chassis
No wheelie barzz
Any fuel
Any engine combo
Must have some sort of muffler
Working brake lights, turn signal, and headlights
At least 2 seats. It can be 1 front and 1 rear, 2 fronts, whatever, but have 2 seats. And yes, a Kirkey is a seat...

All vehicles entering will be going on a 15-20 minute drive before first round. This will include roughly 5-10 miles of backroads, and a short 5 mile drive up I26. There will be a lead and follow car on the interstate...both going 55 mph. Don't let the follow car pass you! It's only 5 miles. Cars will re-enter the track and go straight to staging. Will have roughly 15 minutes of cool-down before pairing up and doing first round!

Guys, it may look like a lot of rules, but in reality, if it's a street car that is ever driven on the highway, then you should fall right in. I know someone will have something stupid to add or say, but I think this will be a great race!

Also, i'm wanting to do a gamblers (bracket) race as we did last time. Anyone can enter that! Gonna try to do a $20 buy in with 100% payout to the winner. There will be first OR second round buy backs for $10. I will also try to put $$ on top of the payout if the money is there to do so!

Oh yea...the Savannah guys are also invited to show up this time! I see the vids of y'all racing in Mexico, so seems like you guys may be ready to dance :bigthumb:

Thanks
Brandon

Sounds like a good time, now we just have to work on getting a bunch of cars up...

trickey 08-16-2013 05:53 AM

Sounds good to me........

slowgreen99 08-16-2013 06:12 AM

Yeah, I think Bad Bob knows a guy that can do it

Darryl Buckner 08-16-2013 08:55 AM

I like those rules, Brandon. :bigthumb:

Davie needs to vidio record this event (form the cruise to the lanes). I'd pay 10-15$ for a DVD of it.

slowgreen99 08-16-2013 11:34 AM

Davie will be on hand! I highly doubt he'd want $, but maybe we can do some convincing to make a few copies and throw him a little change.

Id like to base the $1000 payout on a 12 car field. Ill add that to the original post also.

but the speed limit on 26 is 70, not 55

slowgreen99 08-16-2013 11:42 AM

No, the limit is 45-70. Thanks!

1998ta__1991rs 08-16-2013 11:42 AM

lol

slowgreen99 08-16-2013 11:44 AM

Wanna set it to 57.5 mph? That splits it down the middle...

DolSVT00 08-16-2013 12:37 PM

You can run with or without a/c! But not your slicks! ;)

Qwik_Sn95 08-16-2013 12:43 PM

Doesn't say functional muffler just that the car has to have some sort of one.
