Really hard to deny this, only defense I could think of is to destroy the credibility of the video.

Although I'm pretty sure a "not guilty" verdict will incite riots.

i mean really the guy was straight up running away and was like 20-30ft away before he got his gun out and started poppin rounds off in his back... feared for his life? lol

i will say the guy shouldnt have been running either, but dadgum.

That's why body cameras should be mandatory for police. If it weren't for the bystander video, the whole issue would have been swept under the rug.

I'm not sure this one could have been swept under the rug. If there was an autopsy done on the victim it would show that all the rounds that hit him were in his back side, which indicates he had his back turned to the officer. With that being said, a fleeing suspect hardly constitutes the use of deadly force.

This is the last possible thing SC needs after the whole Ferguson thing. They should throw the book at the cop and let him be an example. Needs to be locked up for the rest of his life.

And yes John that's exactly where that is, over behind the pawn shop.

local lawyer posted on facebook today that that police force ordered 250 body cameras today. should be interesting to see what happens.

about time...cops should have nothing to fear about cameras if they tell the truth and do the right thing...

well, technically he didn't stop.

here's the breakdown:

-dude never paid child support
-dude prolly had a warrant out for his arrest, due to lack of paying court ordered child support
-dude's rolling around in a Mercedes Benz (I read that in one report, IDK where)
-dude has a taillight out in his BenzO

lets review the facts:
-can afford BenzO
-has not paid child support

so when he got stopped...he was not running from a "Racist Cop/Driving while Black incident"

he was running from a "I aint never paid my child support and I know I will go to jail" incident


IDK guys, let me know if you think that wraps up the ROOT cause of the situation...and then it just snowballed from there.

They showed a pic of the Benz. Looks like a $2k today only special on CL. Nothing to write home about that's for sure. Dude shouldn't have run but also most certainly shouldn't have been shot.

One thing that also strikes me, is that when the guy turned to run, he was doing at best a slow jog. You're telling me the 33 year old cop who looks in decent shape couldn't run down a 50 year old dude that could barely maintain a slow jog? Pathetic.

I'm sure he can pay his bill now
