Flex plate Question

Probably a stupid question for you guys but.....

Can I take a Flex plate balanced to 50oz, and have it rebalanced for a motor that is 0 balance?

I had 28oz balanced to 0.

All you need to do is remove the counterweight off of your 50 oz/in flexplate. Then, have it zero balanced. If money is tight, you can zero balance your flexplate on an old style lawnmower blade static balancer.

The neat thing about a zero balanced engine is that when you replace a harmonic damper or flywheel, no match balancing has to be done to duplicate the external balance of your old part. Sometimes the old parts are torn up/worn to where a match balance attempt wouldn't be 100% accurate anyway.
