Doing a tenant upfit job. The distance between the joist is 22.25" . He cut the plywood just a hair bigger than that evidently. And didn't nail it down. So, my hands are full with material and some tools. I make the left turn heading towards the air handler to run out the trunkline. My right foot meet the platform and it slipped or what whatever. At first I thought I "popped" the sheetrock. But quickly after I realized I didn't and actually was falling. I dropped what I had in my hands and tried to grab one. Needless to say it didn't work. I got a cut on the inside of my right arm near my armpit (metal ductstrap did that one... Nice fillet) and my left skin must have drug across the 2x12 because skin is pulled back on it and nice little cut there. I landed on my ass and slowly fell to the ground all the way after that. The area on my ass behind my wallet has my debit card number embedded into it. And somehow between falling/trying to grab ahold and making contact with the ground. The inside of my thumbs are killing me. Between the inside of my thumb and point going down to my wrist. Pain is located in no bigger than 1" wide from there. I walk with a slight limp as my left side is sore and it was a bitch to shower with limited movement. But its ok. Shit happens. I lived and some choice words were said after I checked my wounds and made sure nothing was broke. First time for everything I suppose. But I realized even more that many people have the "I don't care attitude" and lack normal brain functions and common sense that they should just lick stamps all day.
