What do wheel bearings cost for our trucks?
The reason I ask is because the guy at Advanced Auto tried to sell me some $200 wheel bearing hub assemblies. That just didnt compute with me so I figured Id hold off and ask people who knew instead.
This is what he tried to sell me http://www.partsamerica.com/product_...515028_fro.jpg In the description it says its for a 4X4. Im used to with my old chevy just getting bearings and races and it would cost me about $60. Is that not the case for out trucks or is the guy at AA just an idiot? |
Don't know what your buying them for but I don't think they will fit your truck.

i can check tomorrow at work(oriellys)

What your name? |
Hubs can cost anywhere from 60 to 300 (I worked at Napa for 5 years, Ive sold several) I dont recall ever selling one for a Lightning so I am not fimiliar with how they are built...if it comes as a hub assembly only or if you can simply change the bearings in the hub.
|
your truck should have just the basic inner and outer bearing that is packed with grease. And yes the 4wd have the hub bearings but that should be incorrect for your 2wd
|
The hubs are showing for 4wd. There are bearings there as well.
