Idle
When I cranked my truck up to leave from work today it started fine but then immediately started idling at around 2000 rpms and stayed there for about 2 minutes then went to normal. It drove home fine but I wanted to crank it again to see if it did it again and this time it went up very slowly and did not stop. I cut the truck off as soon as it got to 3400 rpms.... Its still doing it now. I took the tune off and reinstalled it and it is still doing it. It just goes up slow and does not stop. Any ideas?

Sorry dude got no ideas. Maybe someone that knows will chime in. You could also call Jim III and see if he can steer you in the right direction.

1st thing I would do is: remove negative battery cable for a few minutes.
Are you in Charleston? or Georgetown? |
Vacuum hose?

Such a high idle makes me think something is pulling the throttle open. Have you had a chance to look under the hood with the truck running. How do the throttle/cruise control cables look? How about the bracket?
When is the last time you cleaned your IAC? |
ok guys problem found. I ust have to get it fixed. I took advice and popped the hood after i started it. I watched the throttle cable start to go down very slowly. I looked in the truck and the gas pedal was going to the floor very slowly. So now I got to figure out how to tighten all that back up..... kind of wierd actually.

Chris, Is it the cruise control pulling the throttle open? If so I would pull the cable off the throttle bracket until you can get the control looked at.

Ok. I am taking it up tomorrow morning. It is disconnected now. I hope nothing to serious. Damn trucks are expensive to fix when its shit like this.
