can any local machine shops cut an axle?
 
i have called a bunch of places already, does anyone know of a place that can cut about .300 off a strange axle?

where the splines are. is that a no no? i just swapped some parts. got wilwood brakes for the back in trade. once i removed the backing plate for the drum brakes it made my axles about .110 to long on each side. i want to hack .300 off on axle

well if you just have to trim the end you should be able to do that as long as you dont need it resplined. they usually give you a little extra to work with for that reason i think. just take some measurments and see what you come up with

chop saw is faster with the hardened axles, band would take a while. oh and a hammer would just cause more problem so no recommended

a very smart guy on mopar board told me to take thrust block out of differential. may not need to cut
