2007 mustang tune question
my son has a 2007 mustang. he bought a pypes off road exhaust kit and a intake kit that comes with a tuner. the tuner comes with a tune for his mods. we put it on the dyno and he had 14.5 afr at idle. at wot it never dropped below 13.99 afr. we stopped the pull at 4600 rpms because of the afr. the guy who put the tune in the tuner says it is ok because the sniffers you put on the tail pipes for afr readings are not accurate. i think he needs to add fuel. what do you guy's think. tks

Tuner is actually alittle right. You are actually measuring after mufflers and all. A true TRUE a/f reading would be tied into the 02 simulators. Why dyno was it on? Powerzone?

You could check the plugs.

Some of those "sniffers" are more accurate than others- it really depends on which one/ style they are using.
The best thing to do is to take the reading from the O2 sensor. If you are putting the car on the dyno anyway, spend a little extra to get a custom tune and shitcan that box tune. JMHO |
we put on the dyno at williams performance when i had my car there. he did me a favor and put his car on the dyno to check the tune. we will have to get it tuned . tks for the advice.
