WTB: Tool Box

I'm in desperate need of a good box, im tired of crap piling up in the garage and not being able to find anything, looking for a mac, matco, snapon, cornwell, waterloo, etc, dont really have a budget just let me know what you have.

here's how sears works:

you have to join the "craftsman club"

the first five days of very month

sears runs a sale, say a $1300 top/bottom combo is $1100

and for "club members only" it is $1000

that's when I buy all my stuff,
they send out a flyer every month, and i just look for what i need.

i think i have a 59623/59624 combo

42 inch ball bearring

ball bearing is a MUST for the weight of tools you will end up with in a quality box

im trying to stay as far away from craftsman as i can, the us general boxes at harbor freight are more sturdy than any craftsman i have ever seen

I have to agree with the Craftsman thing. They have really got shitty over the last few years, tools and all. I have a buddy that is a diesel mechanic, and he really didn't want to spend Snap on money either. He bought a big roll around box from "Extreme Tools". It looks real similar to the Maxamizer that Mac sells, with 6 pnumatic casters, you can rearrange the drawers, ect. He purchased his online through a local dealer, and really likes it. I was considering one myself. Northern Tools sells the small box by Extreme Tools, but you have to go through a dealer for the big one..:bigthumb:

i have a snap on box which i love its a little big for what i got it for but it works great. i know i was in the pawn shop in svl a while ago and there was a snap on for around 1100 dollars. go check pawn shops or call me zac if u want and ill check the mc and gc pawn shops.

I love mine , but thats what I make a living with. Its the biggest Matco 3 bay box they make. Its 6ft5 across the top. I didnt pay anywere near what I heard some of them costing. I did get it used off a snap on truck. You just have to look for them.

why?

mine was like $1000 or so, for a 42 inch top/bottom combo that is almost 6ft tall.

it's not GREAT, but it's a GOOD box, since I don't make a living out of it.

heres one thing that annoys me:
it has the "grip latch" where you have to lift up the edge to open it

that edge is scrubbing the bottom of the drawer above it,
so every drawer has a little bare metal/ rust where it drags

everything in life is a compromise :boohoo:

Greg got one at Trident Tech with his student discount, was like $4k, and he got it for under half that.

snap on, but it's the bottom only :(

Crapsman was a 300.00 waste of money. I bought 1 for home and what a waste I ended up taking home my big tool box.
