I want to make my intake blingy...I have no idea what all is involved in doing so.

Power ball makes life much easier for polishing if you try it yourself.

Slowleen 05-20-2007 05:51 PM

so what do I use, sand paper and then a polishing liquid and ball? If anyone knows the process i'd be greatful lol

got heat soak?

lots of sanding stages with different grits. go medium and keep getting finer and finer until it almost looks like it is polished. then get you some blue magic and then use a polisher. It will look like chrome.

I dont follow? Polishing an already metal intake is going to make it more heat soaked then it already is?

You will reduce the surface area.

start off with some 120 grit sand paper and work your way up to about 380 or 400 or so. Once done start polishing, after you polish it a couple of times take that 400 grit and sand it again or go to a higher grit. then polish it out and you should be blingin. I am leaving tuesday ut I am free all day tomorrow if you get the paper and polish Iwill come over and show you how to do it. we polish metal on our bots all the time and it works great.

this wouldnt be something that I did until this weekend, and since your leaving, I guess I wont get your help. Thanks though, I got a pretty good idea of what I need to do now.

Appreciate it guys

also highly reccomend in getting a jitter bug. Your hands will be done if you are going to hand sand that.
