4.6 light smoke start up, burning some oil
 
valve seals?

who wants to do them for me?

I'll buy the pizza...the cheap pizza, that is....

that is a bitch of a job to do under the hood. are you planning on pulling the heads?

If its not continuious, it will do it with new seals. The pcv is routed into the intake on the 4.6's they all smoke a lil on startup from residual oil built up in the intake manifold.


Its not easy to change valve seals while its in the car, you need a few special tools if you have PI heads,and you have to take the timing cover/chains off, cam's out, remove the valve springs, retainers and locks, keep pressure on the valves so that they don't drop, then pull the seals out and replace them. Its almost easier to pull the heads off when your that far.

well, that's my answer, and i am sticking to it,

esp if the valve seals are that hard.

the PCV doesn't make sense as to why it burns oil, but it is a 135k motor....that has NOT been taken care of.....



PCV is still a good answer to ease our mind on the start up puff. thanks a bunch
