02 WS6 JUNK hard to go into reverse
We got a 02 ws6 in the shop. Short shifter, aftermarket clutch traded in this way and it will barely go into reverse at all. Couple of gears are also hard. We sent it out to gm cause thought it may have air in the system cause you have to have a special bleed tool but they supposedly bled it and same thing. Anybody know anything about these things.

go to 3rd then reverse. you have to hold it in R and ease out on the clutch some till it you hear it click in gear. Thats what I have to do.
I will give you $500 for it
Tell your boss the tranny is screwed and I will come take it off his hands for $1,000.
$1500 than. Need something to put in the garage soon :D

I will try this 3rd to reverse thing, it sucks. |

shitty
Your telling me, I hate this car already
you wanna sell it? lol
You don't need a special bleed tool, its the same as any other hydraulic clutch. The only difference is that the slave is on the input shaft. You can find the bleeder on the driver side of the bell housing below the hydraulic line, you will be able to feel it. I use a 3/8 breaker bar with the correct size deep well socket and have a helper pump the pedal, hold it and then I open and close the bleeder quickly....repeat.
It could be a bad slave. |
I agree. Didn't matt go through the same thing with the ls car? and he had to replace the slave?
How far off the floor does the clutch start engaging?
There is no bleeder there that I saw at all. And it may be a bad slave but I hope not cause they aint puttin a slave in this car.
The pedal feels good, engages about 1/4 down maybe a tad more but driving it shifts into the other gears with no grind and does not slip. Seems as if has air but we have bled it also. |
It is not a regular bleed screw, you have to feel for it just inside a ds hole in the bellhousing, I think it is 10mm

Could be a worn blocker ring for the reverse synchro. I have seen them worn on high mileage units. It is the smallest blocker ring in the whole transmission.
11mm or 7/16ths thin wall deep well socked.
