It ran in the 1/8th,:
8.6 / 2.0 without the traction bars.
8.2 with a 1.8 sixty foot, with the Cal Trac Traction bars.
8.0 last time out.

so basically, with a bit of tweaking, it has picked up 2 tenths every time we have went to the strip.
with the proper burnout, it will be in the 7's

What is New in the Nova:

It has an HEI on it now, and I have a full MSD setup (6AL box, two step timing retard, MSD pro billet distributor, coil, all mounts & wires).
The HEI does not have the vacuum advance hooked up, so putting the MSD in and getting more timing advance on the top end should put it into the 7's.

i am putting it back up for sale.

i am about two weeks behind on my college school work.

college is $1700 a class. I have to concentrate on class, and i can't with a fat fun 454 in the backyard, it's so much fun to tinker on.

Derek 06-21-2010 02:54 PM

put gas on it and you will quit school.

04ctd 06-21-2010 03:16 PM

you're not helping me!!!

i really wanna play with it,
but this week I have to watch 8 hours of "archives" (re-runs) of class via the 'net,
and do a my first project (due last Friday) and prepare for the mid term (this Saturday)

i will need the laughing gas for myself by saturday night.

i wanted to ride down to SSS saturday night, but i cut my front & back yard from 9pm ~10:30 (i put headlites on my mower)

then, i went in to study to teach sunday school. i got TOO MUCH on my plate.

I used an automotive relay, and an automotive grade switch that came with the foglights.

and I used a set of ~$20 walmart fog lights.

and a set of Red LED marker lights for the rear (people FLY thru our neighborhood) since i have to cut the ditch by the road.

it drains the battery, so i have to charge the battery between uses, but i would rather be safe than ran over.

i could talk you thru it, it's pretty simple, if you know how a relay works.
i put the wires in Convo Tube also, to protect them

i gap'ped Zac's truck in it on berlinG the other day.. :poke:

in school today. it would be easier to stay stupid than to do this.

04ctd 08-09-2010 10:46 AM

i still wanna get this thing off my "to do list"

had school saturday, skipped school to go ride motorcycles,
so now i am behind the 8ball again....

i got the MSD box mounted in the dash area, and the coil on the firewall.

just need to put wires to MSD, and drop the MSD Dizzy in.

i reckon i could do ~$4300 and keep Hal's tires.
