My red 32V DOHC TT Lightning

Hi Guys. Just came across an old thread on this club talking about my red TT Lightning. I see one guy saying that it never did anything at the track. Well, this truck is my daily driver and is tuned accordingly. It runs 11.2 @ 126 with just 14lbs on pump gas and that's with a crappy 2.0 60ft, boost only - haven't used the juice yet. So not too shabby I think. It's very reliable and I use it every day to go to work - AND I'M NEVER LATE

What's up with the video? The link works for me, or am I missunderstanding the term 'FIAL'?

1998ta__1991rs 08-08-2010 12:31 AM

it "fials" because it doesnt show any runs at the track or any good pulls on the street, which is what you came on here to defend, so all in all you lived up to the "dyno queen" statement in the other thread

Who called you a dyno queen? Unless you have a WHITE LIGHTNING WITH BLUE LIGHTNING BOLTS.

Here is the thread I responded to ...

Just wanted to set the record clear. I dont really use it on the track and have only raced it maybe six times more out of curiousity than anthing else. It certainly is no 'Dyno Queen' though as many a Mustang can testify when they think they can run all over me on the open road. Its a thoroughly sorted TT and goes like stink or idles all day in traffic without any drama. My every day ride and great great fun.

The links back and forth between the same threads is kind of like the "how do you keep an idiot in suspense" joke.

I never did get that joke.

well if you raced it, what did it run? What kind of power does it put down? and did you have a silver one at one time or is the video on your youtube page belong to someone else?

svtbarry 08-08-2010 11:41 PM

Hi LXtasy. Yes, that video is of my silver 01 that I sadly had to sell. Raced it for years. Had just about every bolt-on you could think of but still had a stock motor in it. It was pumping out 440rwhp. My current red 01 32V TT puts down 630rwhp @ 14lbs on pump gas. Best I have run is 11.2 @ 126 but I now remember that I did crank the boost up a bit to 17lbs. That was with a terrible 60' of 2.0 on DRs. If I ever manage to get back to the track and actually learn how to launch this beast I could end up with some serious times I think. It was my plan to spray a 75 shot just for a second or two to help spool up quicker, but I have since realized that this TT motor spools up incredibly quickly because I use (twin) pretty small turbos. There is virtually no lag whatsoever. This is perfect for the open road, but obviously not so good for ultimate power. Still, its performance is plenty enough for a DD and is such fun.

Very nice! Me personally I could give a shit about a 1/8 mile that's a joke. I'm sure this thing is a beast on the open road! For a truck I'm sure you have surprised quite a few wanna be fast street cars
