What brand would you recommend? I see there are a ton of knock offs that don't actually work.

Where do you plan on mounting the camera? If inside, and you have adjustable headrests, a mount can be made for around 25-30 bucks.

This. Square aluminum tubing, long bolts and wing nuts. You can buy a camera mount bracket at any camera store.
