I have built over 10 s10's with 350 in them, just make a small heat shield and it will solve all the problems. The last s10 I did had headers, over 400 hp and a stock starter with a homemade heatshield with no problems. I used stock starters and every one and headers almost every one and the heatshield solved all the heat soak problems.

I agree. I wrap the one on tylers truck when I had it. The one in the blazer is left alone. But than again stock lt1 starter also
