Almost 9 sec 8th? OUCH.

Harry 02-02-2011 05:30 PM

Hell my 94 autmatic Z28 ran 8.70 stock.

minytrker 02-02-2011 05:36 PM

Thats not a LS3 camaro. Hell my 4 door G8 ran the same time as the camaro.

That wasn't even a drag strip. I am sure both of those car would run faster.

the '10 SS's are turtles

MonteC 02-02-2011 07:44 PM

Great I cant even tell the difference between the v6's and v8's now i have to distinguish the autos from the manuals?!

ASkipper 02-02-2011 08:21 PM

That Camaro was the L99 at 400 hp. It is a dog with the 3.27 gears and a 6200rpm redline. I agree that the mustang is faster. I think it would be closer if they were on a drag strip.

dkbmxer002 02-02-2011 08:24 PM

my 4th gen went 8.5's stock.. i know those new camaro's are capable of alot faster than 8.7 or whatever it ran stock.. i still think stock for stock the mustang is faster but the camaro isn't that slow.

The few 2010 stock auto camaro's we ran at the track all ran really close to that. (8.7-8.9 1/8mile)They have the L99 motor not LS3 they only dyno 295-310rwhp stock and weigh 4k lbs. I'm not that big a fan of the camaro anyway but it did help me deside to get a G8 after tuning several and also running them at the track.

That is ridiculous. Stock 11 v6 mustangs are running 8.7-8.9. Id be more then pissed if i dropped that kind of coin on an SS and then was running door to door with a v6 mustang.

wow that is bad.. i didn't realize there was that much of a difference from auto to manual in them.. it's like the mustangs and camaro's have switched lol.

The GT grew up fast, 1000 higher redline, SRE, 4v, 412/390 NA which is awesome cause the Terminator was 390/390 WITH a supercharger.

I agree, I am not impressed with the new camaro at all. They do respond well to mods though, with just a tune you can drop .3-.5 which is where they should have ran stock, lol. They would also run better if they had a LS3 in them.
