All units have a multi-function "Status" LED.

The LED pulses during cranking as each cylinder fires, merging into a solid glow as the engine comes up to idle speed.

The LED turns off as the engine goes above 980 RPM. Above 1750 RPM, the LED will again turn on, glowing in proportion to the amount of knock retard.
