Most of the time fenders get damaged from the tread flying from the tire. With your tires being worn to the cords on a 2 ply tire there should be no tread to fly off.
I would be more concerned about damaging the wheel spinning at 35+ MPH and hitting the ground.
But if you do it, please get someone with a camara to get it. Maybe start a poll to see who guesses closest.
