I go with option 2, slightly modified. Cut it off, new bigger and stronger end cap, stronger u-joint, rebalance. Or just get a whole new shaft made. It's not cheap, but better than breaking shit.....

That truck is riding. Got any pics of the motor/ engine bay? I'm new here so if you've posted them before I wouldn't know.....
