a 9 inch will rob some power away compared to a stock 10 bolt or 12 bolt.
Just like you loose power through an auto compared to a manual.
Also on a dyno, you can lose power with a higher stall converter than a stocker. That is what I have seen , not experienced. But at the track you pick up.
