15x4's are going to be safer than the 15x3's
Run a radial tire vs. a bias ply
Keep tire pressures up to stiffen the sidewall to prevent sidewall flexion
Be careful to never jam/slam the brakes, even ABS will not prevent turning them into ski's
AVOID potholes!
I ran them for 7yrs on my heavy iron blocked LT1 Camaro. Drove 400 miles up and down I-95, local driving, raining, it didnt matter. You just have to drive smart and know that you have to be careful on on-ramps.
I also did it on my LS1 Formula which was 170lbs lighter on the front than my LT car and it was much more nimble and better on the tires.
