Default 2jz GTE RWD conversion 7th gen celica

ok i was asked to post this.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

i had a lexus SC300 with a 2jz gte swap and it was a monster and i sold it.SO.... the story starts......... so i was missing my 2jz and i was looking at supras and sc's and then i posted on my FB wall "God a 2jz gte powered 7th gen celica would be so dope".... right under that my buddy don posted "Oh josh you and your pipe dreams..." so this urked me to no end... so i said to my self i got you pipe dream and me and a buddy went out and started stripping my running 2001 toyota celica GT.... ok pics of the car befor we start cutting

i paid $140ish at pull-a-part here in augusta

WHEN I SAW THE PRICE I ABOUT FELL OUT! these things go for over 600$ with out subframe or suspension or brakes! EPIC WIN FOR WRONG PRICE
i picked up some parts i got these 40th anv rx8 wheels on a trade for a eday intercooler with tires
befor


and after

^^^^^^^ had to cut this for the rear end to clear

and the peice i cut out im going to reweld in like this.... i think... and put a sheet in the gap and weld that up





ok now to the good stuff guess who i got to meet this weekend?

for the noob that dont konw this is tanner foust he drivees the RWD scion TC
so im talking to tanner about what im building and i asked him how did u keep so much of the stock car with out a full tube frame cuz this is what im trying to do.... also u are my drift god...... he was nice enough to get his team to strip the car for me and put it up on jacks so i could see the under side!!!

so after a few mins of talking about the stock frame will support the V8!!!!!!!!!!!!! tanner gave me a tire off the car and signed it and told me to keep in touch on his website about the project ...

i lucked up and found the badge in a junk yard i have the full set but im using the supra badge. there harder to find that just say supra and not celica supra
new parts for the 2jz








she will crank in less than two weeks the harness is here :thup:







ok now the 2jz fits under the celica hood with minor modding

just to prove its under there lol

and the AC and heat box is back in the dash i need to finish up the fire wall but i wanted to make shure it fit


started to get the center part of the dash in to make shure the shifter would work

it is looking like a car again

got the dash back in also rear fire wall all most done fuel cell is in, cap for the fuel pump is in, air tank is in air suspension is in















and the motor is back where it belongs after finishin the tunnel and the fire wall

exactly.....it all looks EASY until you are the one laying under it forEVAH.

that's a LOT OF work, and it looks like you did a good job.

how about the annoying details: HVAC & gauges, will they all work?

every thing works down to power locks
i have stock gauges, heat, AC, ect ect

the hardest part of making the heat and AC was getting the lines made lol you would not belive what a headach the AC was

That's a pretty ambitious project you have tackled here. Glad to see that it is working out. Pretty sick stuff, to sat the least.
