Default WTB: perf parts for 2000 Chevy truck/tahoe

wife wants 3rd row seats.

there's a set on CL, mailed them 3 times, no response.

need some 235/70-16 tires.

a Cold Air Indux

under drive pullies.

thinking a single 3 inch exhaust, or will that lose back-pressure & MPG?
the ground effects has a single exit on the passenger side.

anything to get some MPG

i always say a vehicle should do three things for you:
-we have one grandbaby, and another on the way. (why want 3rd row)
-wife wants something to drive if I have to take the truck somewhere. (both in school now)
-gas is cheaper than diesel, and the MPG should be same as (15~18)
-it's large enough to feel safe out on I=26/526.

wife firmly veto'ed a little gas sipping car due to aggressive traffic.

we have been car shopping for a while.
we looked at newer cars, used cars, older cars, and this one pretty much fell in our lap. it's older, but low miles, and it has been garage stored since 2002.

My alternator has an internally mounted fan opposed to the one you have. Strange. Nice though man

Wow, I thought 99 was the last year for the OBS suv's. Esp since my suburban is NBS. Looks good though!

(except for that boat anchor)

As for performance parts, maybe Hal Jr can chime in here. He might know more about the OBS and RBS, I can only help with NBS and NNBS. lol

Only Tahoe/Yukon in 2000 used the old style motor/PCM. Not sure why.

04ctd,

Give Jeff a PM or a call at HHP if you don't find what you need used. Should be able to get some of that for a resonable price new.

Yea i dont think they had a factory 3rd row in the old body style. In 2000 they manufactered both body styles, if you find a listing for a 3rd row its probably for the new body style...just my .02

oh crap, so this 2000 Tahoe Limited won't be able to have 3rd row seats put in?

ah crap....does that make it a RACE TRUCK?

HHP - sounds like a deal. i see stuff on line that is for LSx motors, but listed for this year, so i would rather order it from you guys, and let you figure it out. this is a plain ole 350.

sweet, the guy passed away years ago, and his wife mostly left it in the garage, and just had the oil changed ever so often. the oil was honey golden when i checked it last nite. so i think the motor has been taken care of.

a LOT more than you ever wanted to know about Tahoes....

When the GMT800-based SUVs were released in 2000, a 2WD Tahoe Limited was produced for demand purposes. The Tahoe Limited offered several features, along with items borrowed from other GM SUVs. First and foremost, was the Z56 "Police Package" suspension/performance package first shown to the public at the 1996 Detroit Auto Show. Prototypes were made in green and blue, but production was limited to one color only - Black Onyx Metallic. The Limited had no roof rack, but was a standout in that it came factory equipped with a distinctive ground effects body kit, along front and rear fascias. Heavy-duty ABS brakes were borrowed from the Chevrolet Suburban. Bilstein 46mm shocks, front and rear anti-sway bars (borrowed from the Z71 Tahoe 4x4), a 4-speed 4L60E transmission (with transmission cooler), a 3:42 rear gear ratio, limited slip differential and an oil cooler rounded out the performance features standard on the 2000 Tahoe Limited.

The two-tone leather interior, a 120 mph (190 km/h) gauge cluster, an all black grille, Pilot fog lights set in the front bumper and an L31 5.7L Vortec V8 (tweaked to achieve 130+ mph) were among the standard features in the Tahoe Limited. The body sat 2" lower than normally aspired Tahoe's, and the Tahoe Limited is only GM production vehicle to have the special 16"x7" Ronal R36, 5-spoke, aluminum rims wrapped in 255/70R16 tires.

The Chevrolet Tahoe Limited Edition was offered for one year only - the 2000 model year, yet it was based on the first generation model platform. According to research, there were 27,148 produced during this model year, but no known exact numbers for just the limited edition. The original design of the Tahoe Limited was conceived by Jon Moss and badged as the "Tahoe SS" (concept introduced by GM on November 7, 1996). However, it is reported that GM disliked the idea of an "SS" at a time when insurance companies were already demanding higher premiums for SUVs.[2]

A Tahoe Sport was also produced that had a monochromatic paint scheme, distinctive front bumper, but different wheels. It is largely believe to be a Z71 model, but most do not possess the Z71 RPO code found in the glovebox
