Default Dumps vs. Catbacks

I was wondering how much louder a set of dumps is then a catback of the same muffler. Reason I ask is I have the magnaflows sitting here at the house which dont well "right in" as I hoped. I was considering just making dumps out of them since they aren't very loud mufflers and also b/c most panhard bars dont work with factory routed pipes anyways.

Just curious if its something obnoxious or if its tolerable. My muffler and x pipe combo for those who remember, are the same as my '01 saleen which wasnt really all that loud until WOT. Also if anyone can fill me in on the pros/cons of dumps vs. catback.

It's louder in the car for sure but not quite as loud outside the car .

Here are a couple videos of my old Cobra with the Magnaflow catback and UPR x-pipe . The first video is with pipes out the back and the second is with them dumped .

Damn Jeff I miss that car....it sure makes a purty show car now with its 20inch foose wheels

I might just have to try the "dumps" route and see how I like it...I can always put em back to normal later. How bad was the exhaust smell inside the car in any stop and go traffic out of curiousity?

The '97 that I have has Magnaflows with dumps on it.....I hate the sound of it. It is loud as hell....That is why I don't drive it any more than I do.....

I would never put them on something that I drive every day. Come by and drive tha car....than you will see what I am talking about.

Tim if you enjoy listening to your radio or talking on the phone. Don't put dumps on it. Trust me.

You don't want to do dumps man, it makes the cabin noise MUCH MUCH louder. The drone with dumps is horrible man.
