Default 5.0 conversion to carb set up

Thinking about buying a classic car which has a 5.0 installed. Anyone know how difficult it is to convert a 5.0L fuel injected engine over to a carbureted set-up?

Intake, carb and air cleaner for sure..

Will a fuel pump bolt up to the block? Ignition issues? Delete the wire harness and install an MSD set-up?

Delete the wiring harness, and use a dist from an early 80's stang ( if its not got a roller cam) if it does have a roller cam get a dist from an 85. Has the right gear and setup for using an ignition box vs a harness.

I'd still run an electric fuel pump. Get a returnless style that you can dead head at the carb like a Holley blue or something. Is this going to be a race / toy or just a cruiser?

IMO, if it has the EFI setup, and it works. Leave it alone. Better fuel mileage ease of use ( less tinkering with the carb, let the computer do the adjusting to weather conditions), and looks cooler.

Its a 67 Mustang coupe with a 5.0 out of a 91 GT and it has an AOD behind it. The car is in the final phase of a resto and the engine is all there except the water pump and upper intake. The owner said it all works but I wanted to get away from the sensors and computer aspects. I wanted the engine to take on a period correct look. I have an extra aeromotive pump but would need a regulator. I'm also not that familiar with the 5.0L engines (sensors, cam, software). Can't be that bad..

Maybe leaving the FI alone is the best thing to do. My intentions are to make it into a quick cruiser. Maybe an MSD ignition, Trick Flow heads and intake.
