Talking how much gear ??

ok guys'
i,m in the building of my S10 for the strip'
and i have a chance of getting a rearend with a 456 gear in it with a locker'
is this too much gear for the 1/8 mile' planning on running a 350/350turbo combo' and if this is ok' how much cam would work with this size gear''

Are you planning on running all motor? What size tire you plan on running?

if you know the gears in the transmission and the tire size you are planning to run we can figure out if your going to run out of gear in the 1/8.

with the turbo350 2.52(1st) 1.52(2nd) 1.0(3rd) and a 28" tall tire running 6500 rpms in 2nd = 72mph 3rd would be 109mph. this is with a 4.56 rear gear.

I get 118.79 with no slip.

the transmission is a long tail turbo 350 from a 76 chevy 1/2 ton truck 2 wd, five lug rear''

I'm going off the 28" tall tire, gearing in the trans and the rear gear. using 6500 rpms max. This is with using a 1.52 2nd gear and 1.0 3rd.

Your rpms must be at 7050 rpms with a 28" tall tire for that speed.

how about a 411 gear ?
would that be to much gear for a stock 350/350tubro in the 1/8 ??
