Rear End work

After the turbos I will definaley need my rear done . Who does good work?? Please give links if possible.

I know a guy that works at the Lincoln dealership that will do it right for a reasonable rate. He did my rearend, and he's done a good bit of work for some other fast cars in this area.

Yes he maybe expensive, but I have also known people who got it done cheaper and it broke. In the long run they paid the same if not more by doing it cheaper. JUST A THOUGHT. He does good work and guarantee's it. He has done 3 complete rearends in cars for me and held up to the drag racing scene. NO COMPLAINTS!!!

Gerald does do great work. But I know he's been super busy with his new house and I'm not sure if he has a spot to work on cars just yet. But if he does I'd defintely recommend him. I know BPE has done well by a good bit of people, but not me. He gave me a quote to fix the rearend that I may as well have gone to the dealership for, then when I told him I was getting it fixed by a guy at the dealership for a quarter of the price and he seemed to take it well. Since the car was already there and I didn't have a cutting wheel I asked him to go ahead and change the TWO wheel studs for me. I get the car back with a bill for changing all FIVE wheel studs, and the labor time was unnecessary. That is a 1 hour job for an idiot, tops......he charges me 2.5 hours. The discount that I was supposed to get was only applied to the parts (which was like $3), not the labor. Then to top it off all FIVE studs that he replaced didn't even stay in the damn hub when I took the wheel off to get new tires mounted, I had to pull them back through the hub myself. With that being said I won't go back there, he was a really nice guy I'll give him that.....but he overcharges and I wasn't impressed with his work. The guy that did my rearend is a Lincoln/Ford tech, did it for a 1/4 of what they wanted literally, will honor his work if anything goes wrong, and has done several fast cars in this area. He was highly recommended to me by Dennis with the white Laser, he's a good guy and wouldn't try to steer anybody wrong. I'm sure some of you guys know how anal Greg at GSC is with his Supra, this guy did the rearend for him.

Interesting. Did you discuss this with him? I am sure he would have worked out something with you. As far as the club discount goes it was 65.00 per hr and 10 percent off parts. His labor rate is somewhere around 75.00 per hr, but don't quote me on it.

Richards did mine over there by the Citadel mall. It was...whats his names dad that went to the Citadel? Had the red and black Cobra before he totaled it I think. They guy was fair in price and did a great job on my rear end-Shane

I was just over Gerald's house this past week. He has no concrete to work on a vehicle yet. He was working on a truck when I got there, but it was under the hood and not under the truck.

It is always worth giving him a call, he might come to you to do the work. Gerald is very meticulous about the work he does.

I told him I thought it was a little much, I told you about all of this over at Ruby's house a couple months ago. His labor rate is $65 an hour regardless of the club or not.

Had mine done at Robert's on the 99 Cobra. The rear end was still fine when I sold the car this summer. Bouchillon is good and $65 an hour is a pretty good labor rate.

The 3.73s cost me $75 to have put in by a guy that works at the dealership back home. It will be a while before I have the work done, I will be looking for another housing to have sent to have 9 inch ends put on and probably 33 spline axles. I will keep all the suggestion handy and when it get s doen I will let you guys know by who and how the work was

I'll go ahead and leave this in the same thread, I am looking at a set of control arms that only come adjustable, would Bouchillon be able to set those up, is there enough knowledge here that we all could get together at the track and set them up?? The set up is the Team Z with the relocated uppers

Don't forget to change the dog ear bushing in the axle housing to spherical ones . Because if you are going to launch hard at the track your pinion angle will change and could result in broken parts .

Also I would just get adjustable uppers and set them to stock length . Get a nice set of of tubular lowers that are non adjustable .
