Well another swing and a miss on 10's. I got two runs in today, first run the wideband error'ed so HPTuners didn't spray so it was a nice fat pig. Next pass all went good but the extra power isn't going to the tires.
Question is, is this converter or transmission slip? I run a built 4l80E built by CKperformance rated at 1000HP and a circle D 9.75inch triple disk converter stall speed of 3200-3400 but is easy to footbrake to 3700-3800. Truck drops about 700 rpms between shifts but within .5 second its right where it was in RPMS before the shift. Nitrous run I was in second gear for 1.9 seconds, 3rd gear for 7 second, 6 of those seconds between 6100-6200 rpms. Like I said it seems with more HP it gets worse and also just seems to be getting worse anyways. Trans temps have never been over 200, usually around 150-160. Here's couple clips showing how it shifts different with less power and then on the clean run. If you have high speed, select 1080p to see the tach better and full screen that sucker. GoPro Hero is the shit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzFUuCJJOl0&hd=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aObU1C3yMAg&hd=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L7G8azIIOw Thanks in advance.

Your blowing through the converter for sure. Time to tighten it up or go bigger in diameter.

What he said ^^^. I have been told that 1000 rpm is the ideal drop. Anything less and you are blowing through the converter.

My blue car does the same thing, espicially in the quarter on the gas. RPM keeps climbing but the car doesnt feel like it is going anywhere. Mr Cameron @ Torque Converter Services in Columbia can tighten it up, wether its his or not..

yesterday was just a bunch of FIAL. for me i dumped the clutch at 4400 rpms and the car didn't move till the rpms dropped to 2300. time for a new clutch before adding any more power.
heres my GoPro in action. Shitty background static noise.

Go for the twin disk. My Shelby has one and its the best clutch I have ever driven. Light peddle effort and tons of holding power.

Just watched the vids. Definitely too loose of a converter. You will definitely pick up some time when you can put some more of that turbo torque you are making to the tires instead of heating up fluid in the converter.
If the trans was slipping, it would just keep getting worse in a short amount of time. Find a tighter converter and you will probably pick up .3 to .5 sec easily. What you want to end up with is a stall speed that stalls right where you can start to make full boost on your tach. Most streetable V-8 turbo setups can make full boost at 2800 to 3200 rpm. If you know how much torque you are making right at the rpm you can start to make full boost, you can tell the converter builder this and they should be able to get you pretty close.

I agree Cameron does top notch work. I had my Cameron converter redone here locally and the guy said it was one of the best converters he ever cut apart.

Thanks for the info guys. I gave Chris a call at Circle D, he started to talk about restalling this one but with a couple more PSI it could be right back in the same condition. He wants me to switch over to his 10.25 triple, said he's got L guys pushing 900-1000HP on that one and thinks it's my best bet.
I asked him about money as this converter was $1000 and was spec'ed by him for me based on my dyno sheet and weight of 4600. Also told him my intention to push towards 700 wheel. At this point I don't feel like I got a converter to cover my build. He started at under 500, then under 200. In the end he said he'll take care of me, well see how that goes come shipping/cash out time. I'm figuring around 200 plus me being out shipping, removal and a fresh 10 qts of B&M.
