I'm doing a full machine polish this weekend with some new products and the process has begun. We have a photo shoot on Sunday so I need to have the ZL1 looking top notch! I did the rims and tires last night and doing the two bucket wash tonight. I will have it clayed and ready for polish in the morning.

Matt, I know you can do this level of repair. The question is do you take on jobs like this? Just wondering.

We've got the supply and know how to do this type of job, but people don't want to pay. The amount of time and chemicals needed would put it in the $1000+ range. However, its better than paying for a paint job.

I was shocked to see they didn't showcase their interior skills.

Does doing that type of work, damage/degrade the paint any? Do brand new cars have that much reflection? Newbie here on this subject obviously.

Nope. It won't damage your paint. You are only working with the clear coat, and yes they have that much reflection but it needs to be brought out.

You can damage the paint by breaking through the clear... which I have seen. We have all seen the damage someone can do with a buffer as well.

Brand new cars do shine, but most have orange peel from the factory that can be wet sanded out if desired(I don't see the need for it).

I think it turned out very well. I only did one round of correction as I didn't have all week to work on it.

It was dark when I finished. Maybe the owner will post some pics soon before it gets all dirty again!
