Honda to do a recall on Fit models

Supposedly they are burning to the ground due to the master window switch in the drivers door. That sucks my wife has one and so does Gerald..

Can you say "gap insurance"?

This is good news for me. If it burns to the ground, then so be it. At least a monthly payment will be gone and no foul play will be expected. As we all have learned about stingy insurance companies here lately, it is hard to get them to pay at all unless a total loss is involved.

We got this Fit back before the market crash when gas was going about $4 a gallon. If we knew the economy was going to crash a couple of months later, we would have abandoned the gas miser strategy of getting the Fit in the first place.

It has been a super great car, though. Typical Honda fit, finish, and reliability. We just don't really need it as a 3rd car with the accompanying payment right now.
