Yeah it sounds like everything will be pretty easy with the exception of the pretrip.

Good luck in your search.

Check out SAIC. I know for a while there they were transporting large military vehicles that required CDL's to drive.

My company may be hiring a driver. You'd basically be driving government and contractor supplies around Chas in something similar to a large U-Haul truck. I don't know why the require a CDL, but they do. You'd work something like 7 to 4 with the occasional trip down to Kings Bay, GA or maybe up to N.C. I will ask around tomorrow and let you know. Could you pass a drug test? Not trying to disrespect you by any means, just don't know you.

Thought about getting your hazmat? My dads company has business down there. You dont need it unless you want to haul liquids. But they have dry containers too.

i had passed my hazmat endorsement test but i never went to get the addition on my license.. its 150-200 and i would of had to drive back and forth to Charleston to do the in person part.. they do background ect ect before they endurance you. and since their wasnt any tanker/hazmat companies near my parents place i just never went...

id proably have to go re test/get endourced and go thru the process.. i nkow u have to retest every few yrs and pay 200+ to renew the license

its always an option i guess.

I have mine, its not too hard to get. The pretrip has alot of stuff to remember, but not bad. Now hauling hazardous materials is a totally different endorsement/ballgame. I have an FL70 Freightliner if you need to practise..

They do it so you will be required to have that DOT physical / drug test every 2 years. The DOT physical will fail you for high blood pressure, let alone drug abuse.
