When i was in high school my football coach told me to take it so i could get out of class. Its one of those tests that really sees what kind of smart you are. I had no interest in the military at all but they contacted me alot because of my high score.

i think the local library and the school library should have a few.
FWIW, it is worth it brush up, because that score really sets your pay level for the rest of your life. if you get a Nuclear Power type score, you get $60000 bonuses if you get a Cook & Clean type score, you get $2000 bonuses. and when you get out and put one of those two on your resume, you KNOW what you get. check the library.

He's referring to the Navy, and he's correct.

For real, my good friend went in as a Nuke and got a NICE bonus. He gets another huge bonus if he re-ups also.

Passed the Navy Nuke test by 1 point in the late 80s. I didn't join though.

Most of the stuff on there is pretty much basic stuff, if it makes you feel any better I got a 90 on the overall score and I'm not that great with school type work.

Its hard to study for the ASVAB because most of it is common sense stuff. Theres also no point in them taking the test unless they are going in the military or enjoy being harassed by recruiters.

yeah, nukes get pretty good bonuses... i got a 99 on the ASVAB, took some other tests, and got accepted into the program with a $25k enlistment bonus... i'll be eligible for selective reenlistment soon and the Navy is making a VERY strong case for me extending my contract out from 6 years to ~8 (automatic E-5, extra pay, and the below...)

I got 25k to join and I reenlisted 2 years ago for 75k. I'm a nuke as well. They give you half of the 75k and then give the rest to you spread out over the reenlistment. I'm an sub MM ELT.
ASVAB is just a general knowledge test. I don't really see how you could study for it. |

My enlistment bonus into the Marine Corps was the fact I was becoming a US Marine. I had one of them highfalutin jerbs too. Cheap bastards.
