I said in Matt's thread I would find some pictures of it so here they are.
It was a 1978 Checkmate Trimate III with an Evinrude 200 on it power jack plate and all. All the controls were frozen including the steering, the floor, transom and stringer were all rotted, all the gel coat was cracked, the engine had no compression and at one point caught on fire and took all the engine wiring with it. After I cleaned it up and found out what all was wrong with it I put it back in my Uncles field where his son had it until I had the time and money to get all the parts I needed to fix it. Well one day he decided he didn't want it back there anymore and hauled it off, they gave the motor to a shop to use for parts and put the hull in the landfill. This is how it was when I pulled it out of the field. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And here it was after scrubbing it and shoveling the leaves out of it. ![]() |

That is a big difference. How much will it cost to get it working functionally with the controls, etc.?

Wow! That was one hell of a project. Then again, you could have had a really nice boat with about 5-6k and some luck on a motor.

Hopefully in the next year or two when I finish the 4-eye I can find a Checkmate to play with. |
