Im looking for a good bowrider. Good power but doesnt need to be super fast. Big enough to fit the family.

Waddya think? Needs some motor work. Is the price low enough to justify pulling the motor or should it be lower and include the trailer?

I would never put anywhere near that in a 96' model boat with engine problems. If it needs manifolds and risers, that's $1,000 - $1,500 alone. IMO, it's a $2,500 - $3,000 boat, tops.

Including the trailer. The seller must have an emotional attachment to it, because he's way off. If you go to resell, a Cobia is not a popular name in bowrider boats, only outboard fish boats. Find an old Sea Ray, Cobalt or Chaparral and the Sea Ray is by far the best riding of the three.

Larry keep your eye out. Im looking for a bow rider 18-22 feet. Prefer a v8, and would prefer it to need some work. Must have solid floors, stringers and transom.

Much better deal on this rig as long as the hull is solid. Yamaha built a good outboard back in the day and still do today. Larry is right on the first boat, count on doing manifolds and risers. Gets very expensive very fast. Not a big fan of I/O's anyways. I've had them both, and will stick to outboards forever. That carbed 225 may be a little rough on fuel, but should be reliable and push the crap out of that boat. That Laser II prop is a Mercury Marine offering, and is one bad ass prop. That boat should fly. Add fuel (non-ethanol), oil (yammalube), and have fun!!!!
