Back at Christmas last year when my old room mate went home he said he had a laptop he would give me to use to tune the car with but it needed a screen. I said ok, a new screen is cheaper than a laptop so go ahead and bring it down.
Which he did and it has sat unused until this week. I was talking to a friend down here and he said his screen quit, so he bought a 20 dollar backlight ballast off of ebay and it worked. I looked around on ebay. Found one for this laptop for $18 plus shipping ( came to just over $3 )... I just put the backlight ballast in a few minutes ago and its working flawlessly. Updating the programs and such since this computer hasnt been used in WELL over a year! So for now it appears I have $21 dollars and some change and about 30 minutes labor in a laptop to tune the car!! WOOT WOOT! Already talked to my buddy and he is sending me all the files to tune the car. We started with one of my friends base tunes and altered it a little bit to fix a little idle surge. Going to pick up a new thermostat for the second time tonight and get that in. Tune this week. Hopefully driving and playing this weekend !!!
