my wife liked to ride thru as a passenger before she drove it.

my buddy brought her thru the outbox going backwards in second gear one time.

was an awesome smoke show.

had a buddy who did open track, and he gave me his old tires for SCCA, made it cheeep & way more fun

It was a slow, short lap. At a track like Myrtle Beach I am in 2nd gear the whole time, this one was 1st the whole time. Also laptimes at MB are normally 50ish, this was high 30s- low 40ish..

Cobraetti what did you end up running? I was in your run-group so I didn't see you run. My best was a 43.060 during runs, 42.4 during fun runs.

IIRC, the Omaha tracks were 20~30 seconds, and you hardly ever got out of 1st, you just used engine braking at the end of the stretch.

we actually were building a SCCA car when we moved to Georgia (after Omaha) but the closest consistent SCCA was in Savannah.


we got out of it then.
of course, we had a BUCKET of money in BMR suspension in it by then.

a few people we knew drove that camaro at the dealer where we traded it in, and they were like 'IT RIDES ROUGH'

The next event at Michelin is usually the biggest course in S.C. There is some 3rd gear action if the course is laid out just right and you feel like pushing for the extra mph.

The Roebling rd. event (buccaneer Region) is the #1 course, though.
I was in 3rd for almost half of it. There's a lot of room to throw your car around. They also feed you lunch there. Best autox I've been to in my 6 years of doing this.
