Default The next big "BOOM"?

We already had the dot com boom, and then the real estate boom. What do you guys think will be next big thing within the next 5-10 years? I am looking for things to invest some money into and it got me thinking. I personally think Solar Energy is going to be big in the next 5-10... and you can't go wrong with home security (alarm systems) or personal storage.

The world ends in 2012 so whats the point in saving or investing? Get as many credit cards as you can and charge all the hookers and blow you can.

I will say Dollar General...they are popping up all over like Wal-Mart and the stocks are relatively low yet steady climbing.

Stock tip #1

tylenol, cough syrup and bandaids.

With the national healthcare system starting up in a few years, bringing all of the unhealthy schmucks out of the woodworks to collect "free" shit for petty ailments, that's pretty much all we are going to be able to afford to prescribe to everyone.

Got an enlarged prostate, pneumonia, or aids? Guess who's getting a sesame street bandaid!

Put your money in it now. Actually, scratch that. The government is gonna put that money in FOR YOU!

YES THEY CAN....WILL...and DID!

Stock tip #2

With 2012, talks of succession, economy collapsing and just people generally preparing for Z-day, companies with merchandise pertaining to disaster preparedness would be a good stock in the next couple of years.

- MREs
- Food storage device (tins, plastic buckets, those little oxygen absorbing packets)
- Water purifying kits

If you like waking up when the markets open. So around 3am our time, 4am ect....

There are fake forex accounts that let you try it, and ones where you can trade pennies.

I have a buddy that does it.....he makes around 300-500 a week. But has a routine of waking up at all hours of the night when the over sea's markets open up.

nano technology, nano bots, computer companies pharm companies......solar will never catch on, you're limited to space.....and imo, from what I can see I would not invest in an energy platform. Just me though, what do I know.

Both of those are horrible ideas.

1) There will not be an increase of band-aids, cough syrup or anything that is over the counter just because of this heath care bill. AFAIK, there won't even be more hospitals being built due to this bill. So it wont change how much they order. Also, just because someone has health insurance does not mean they are hitting up the doctor every other day. I am sure there will be limitations of visits, or what is given to them for a remedy.

2) The doomsday r-tards already stocked up. There is not a new influx of people going OMFG ITS ALMOST 2012 LETS STOCK UP AT THE LAST MIN!!!
People will continue to live their lives as normal as they do today. The doomsday rednecks with their underground shelters and such already have 3-6 years of food supply.

And wouldn't investing in the worlds end, or people believing it will end make that a paradox? What if the world ends, and you invested into it? idk something sounds stupid about it to me......

If you opened a personal storage unit today. You would make enough in the first 3 years to open 4 more units. And owning 5 total you would be a millionaire in another 3-5 years.

Invest in a franchise.......subway can make you 2-300,000/yr easy.

Loosen your bustle a notch, Dr. Quinn. The above aforementioned stock tip was heavily dipped in sarcasm (although I still think nationalized healthcare is a really BAAD idea). No need for rebuttal.

Gonna disagree there, Chief.

People that are constant "doomsdayers" or like to keep a stocked shelter are one thing, but there are always the majority of people that wait until the last minute to do anything.

Example: Hurricanes. People know what season they come in--shit, they even know a week in advance before it comes-- but they always wait until the last minute to stock up on water, wood, and other bullshit. We are a nation of procrastinators.

So to think that the "sheeple" are already stocking up for the supposed 2012 doomsday...2years early..is giving them too much credit.

Investing in the world's end? Not quite. It's called investing in others paranoia. Remember when our weapons and ammunition were supposed to be "banned" when Hussein Obama reached the office? What effect did that have on supply/demand? I pay more than double for 5.56 right now. Someone made some money on that shit...all because of paranoia.

Matt, look into QTWW. Go to finance.yahoo.com and type that in in the search bar. The company is Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies WorldWide inc. They engineer alternative fuel systems and design vehicles for the military.

Also, look at Pier 1 Imports' stock chart over the last 7 months. There symbol is PIR. Another one that is really booming is Sirius Radio (SIRI) and they are proving to be very profitable. And if you are feeling risky, try BIEL.PK. They are at $0.03 a share and a couple hundred bucks invested could be nice if it went up to 10cents a share, and even better at 20cents a share!

Hey d00d guess wut.....doomsdayers have a date in mind.....hurricanes can move 10-30 miles north of Charleston in a matter of hours......and they can move right in the path of Charleston in said time. Theres a big difference of a hurricane and the END of days.
Stocking up is stocking up, last min, last hour, last year, last 10 years......who cares, there is not an influx of what there was durring the cold war.
