11' 5.0 gets owned

Seems a stock SS 4th gen can hold its own with the new 5.0.

Doubtful a Camaro that old is stock. As far as Im concerned the brand new GT held its own especially for having less than 100 on the OD at the time of the race.

Yeah of course the SS was stock, just like every other "stock" LSX car. Because 102-105mph cars always walk 110-112mph cars. I like some of the comments on Youtube though about the mustang being too heavy to compete. It only weighs 150lbs more than that gen SS, and less than the current gen.

Both cars belonged to the same guy he wanted to see how his old car did against his new one. He said that the car only had a lid. I guess it only takes a car rated at 315hp stock to outrun the all new mighty 411hp stang.

And as far as driver mod both cars had new drivers in them. And you can clearly see the stang got the jump in both vids and got pulled on by a few lengths. I am sure it will get quicker and there will be a few more vids showing a 4th gen losing but I just want to show that the field is only closer not the stang in the lead.

In for more excuses.

For the camaro to have a displacement advantage Id say that ford looked strong. imo wouldn,t take much to be a killer.I would hate to see the one they strap a factory blower to.

When mine comes in we can run at Dorchester or Bowman, and see how it does against your SS, even though your probably isnt stock. Might be a good test.

Not yet, because it is a long waiting line. Ford presold 48,000 plus units before they are due to be released. So it will probably be late 2011 to early 2012 before it comes in. Jeff D. is going to order one also..

Ok, after really watching that video. I will give it to FORD. For a "stock vs stock" debate. Ford finally has a NA car that can run with a "stock" ls1. I am very impressed. Now let's hope it responds to some nice bolt ons like a "5.0 does" and the lsx's .

Even in that vid they say the 5.0 is more than just an exhaust only car. I agree though it would take a bit more mods on a ls1 to achieve those times.
